Jú Linares

Jú's journey to VMC Certification began when she attended her first Hawaii Playshop in 2006. There she met Arthur Hull and Mary Tolena, another VMC Certified Facilitator who was on the Playshop teaching team at the time.

Together Jú and Mary founded Rhythm Expansion in the U.S., which became Ritmo Expansão when Jú moved back to Brazil.  Jú creates interactive, rhythm-based team building programs to organizations to help groups unify and expand their potential.

"My favorite place to be is in the zone of co-creation, making music with others," Jú says. "The back-and-forth between expressing and listening teaches us so much about relating and working together in life."

A native Brazilian, Jú moved from her native São Paulo to the U.S. In 1998. She empowered youth by teaching drumming in the Bay Area public schools, and brought joy to parents and children as a certified Music Together teacher. An accomplished percussionist, Jú has taught workshops and played with numerous Brazilian music groups in the Bay Area, Seattle, São Paulo, and Salvador, Brazil.

On her way to her VMC Certification, Jú completed all levels of VMC training, including the third level Mentor program twice. She holds a degree in sound design, and is an accomplished video producer. Jú's continuing education includes an MBA in the Development of Human Potential from the Franklin Covey Business School in São Paulo, and "InterAct: Quality Workplace Relationships" by the Leadership Institute of Seattle.
