The University of Massachusetts Global is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), ensuring that credits are issued through a regionally accredited institution.

These credits are intended for professional development purposes and are commonly used for professional advancement, including salary increment steps, continuing education requirements, and recertification.

 

These units are not part of a degree program.

 

Participants are encouraged to seek approval from their school district, employer, or licensing agency before enrollment to ensure that credits meet specific professional or credentialing requirements. Acceptance of credits varies by state and licensing authority, and some states may not accept credits issued by universities located outside their state.

Eligible Courses and Credit Options

The following Village Music Circles trainings are eligible for graduate-level professional development credit through UMass Global:

One semester credit is equivalent to 15 instructional hours.

  • MUSU 9010 — The Rhythmical Alchemy Playshop
    2 semester credits
  • MUSU 9011 — 3-Day Basic Drum Circle Facilitator Training
    3 semester credits
  • MUSU 9012 — 6-Day VMC Intensive Drum Circle Facilitator Training
    6 semester credits

 

Step-by-Step Process for Receiving Graduate-Level Credit

  1. Register for and complete the eligible Village Music Circles training or course.
  2. Register and submit payment for the corresponding University of Massachusetts Global course ($60 per credit).
  3. After registration, you will receive an email from UMass Global with your account information and payment confirmation.
  4. Village Music Circles will verify your successful completion and submit grades to UMass Global.
  5. Once grades are posted, you may access your transcript through your UMass Global account.

 

Please allow up to two weeks for grade posting and transcript availability, especially if you are working toward salary advancement deadlines.
